We take our children to trade fairs and amusement parks, they like the thrill their bodies experience. But do we look at our own bodies with the same thrill and awe? We let our children observe the common equipment’s at home like a mixie or a grinder. Do we try to explain that the mechanism of our body is something similar to the working of those machines, so that they introspect on themselves? We find yoga to be one of the best ways to make them think about the working of their own bodies, to wonder at this complex human machine, so that they take care of themselves properly, respect oneself and also the other human beings.
Yoga for little children need not be very complicated, can be incorporated with a simple sitting down with folded legs and eating procedure, a daily few minutes spent at the start of the day with light breathing exercise, etc, be it at home or the school environment.
Let’s aim and work on a healthy tomorrow, for health is as equally important (or even more) than studying and getting good grades.
